Principal
Mel joined Curbstone Financial Management Corporation in 1986 to provide settlement services to trial attorneys. In 1988 he started managing money for individual and corporate clients, initiating the use of no-load mutual funds with Charles Schwab for Curbstone clients, providing an innovative and cost-effective approach for implementing customized client asset allocation strategies. More recently he has developed evaluation strategies for 401(k) plans to help trustees meet their fiduciary requirements. With more than 30 years of money management experience, he focuses on a comprehensive risk-adjusted management strategy tailored to each client’s needs. Mel is a Registered Investment Advisor.
Mel earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from New Hampshire College (Southern New Hampshire University) and a master’s degree in Occupational Education from the University of New Hampshire. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®).
Mel has served on the board of directors and as a chairman of the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation and as trustee and vice chair of the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association. He has participated in the Making Corporate Boards More Effective program at Harvard University. In addition, he co-authored the publication, “Guide for Structured Settlements,” and authored “Education Investing for the 21st Century.”
